Drumroll, please! We announce today the winners of Ocean Protocol’s first Air Quality in Catalunya data prediction challenge.

The results are in… After close consideration by a panel of evaluators from Ocean Protocol, the award for 1st place ($3,000) goes to Luca Ordronneau. The second prize ($2,000) is awarded to Colin Chan, and the third prize ($1,000) is conferred upon Andrey Bessalov.

Launched on February 1st 2023, the contestants of our Air Quality challenge were asked to use Ocean.py’s open-source tool, Compute-to-Data, to publish predictions of air pollutant concentrations in a fully decentralized manner. Contestants also submitted a report about their algorithmic approach to predictions.

Ocean Protocol hosts data challenges like these to attract data scientists to publish high quality data assets on the Ocean Market. Feedback from contestants also drives innovation and improvements to the Ocean tech stack.
