Today NVIDIA has announced that its DGX Cloud AI supercomputing platform and NVIDIA AI Enterprise software have made their debut in the Oracle Cloud Marketplace. For Oracle Cloud Infrastructure this brings a lot of new development options in this new partnership.

So what does this all mean? Well according to the blog released by NVIDIA, with the integration of DGX Cloud and NVIDIA AI Enterprise, OCI customers can now enjoy utilizing NVIDIA’s AI supercomputing platform and software, all while using their existing cloud credits.

Bringing these two giants together can help consumers train AI models for a spectrum of generative AI applications, ranging from intelligent chatbots to search, summarization, and content generation. Now if this will accelerate the development of more AI applications is yet to be seen.

The release provided an example of an existing customer. They pointed to the University at Albany in upstate New York, which has launched its AI Plus initiative. This project integrates AI education and research across multiple fields, from cybersecurity to weather prediction, health data analytics, drug discovery, and next-generation semiconductor design.

Thenkurussi Kesavadas, vice president for research and economic development at the University at Albany said of their project, “We’re accelerating our mission to infuse AI into virtually every academic and research discipline,… We will drive advances in healthcare, security, and economic competitiveness while equipping students for roles in the evolving job market.

The release mentions that OCI customers can access DGX Cloud via the NVIDIA Base Command Platform, which offers developers a user-friendly web-based interface for managing their AI infrastructure. To ensure a smooth transition from training to production, NVIDIA AI Enterprise maintains consistent AI software runtimes across environments.

All in all, this arrival by NVIDIA DGX Cloud and AI Enterprise in the Oracle Cloud Marketplace is a pretty big move. Of course, existing costumers and data scientists will see increased yields in AI development and deployment. Others may be tempted to at least explore the possibility of looking into using the Oracle Cloud Marketplace due to NVIDA’s arrival.

How it will affect the rest of the market is yet to be seen. But both companies likely see the potential in a partnership considering the market for AI-powered applications is expected to grow by over 30% over the next ten years. This also doesn’t even include the AI chip market which will also see massive CAGR through 2030.

So this move could be their means of positioning themselves to better capture the expected growth.
